I am working on a blog migration to hugo. I have three main reasons for this.
Reason one – backups. I really don’t like doing database and content backups. With git this is easy, I’m using it each day anyway.
Reason two – code snippets. Inserting code in WordPress is a fudging pain. That is just so much easier in markdown.
So, that’s the reason this blog is pretty silent right now. My new posts (3 so far) go into the git-markdown-hugo-instance, which is not public … yet. Maybe I should post them here anyway.
Main holdups: Design is one. I am ambivalent about TwentyTwenty (or is it …TwentyOne already?), but I must admit I do kinda like it. I also have still remaining doubts whether I am really sure I want to go this way, since that markdown-editing-process is kinda different and maybe too cumbersome (it is kinda nice to have autocomplete for tags and stuff, which I won’t have in hugo any longer).
You see, I’m in decision limbo here. Soon to be solved, hopefully.
